Return to Play 2020

Red Circle Hockey Families

We know that many of you are awaiting an update as to what our 2020/2021 Hockey Season will look like given the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.  To that end the Red Circle Board of Directors and Executive Committee have been working hard to review relevant information and finalize the development of our Season Plan.

The City of London has communicated that they are busy working on Re-Opening plans and will be sending that out to all associations operating in the city as soon as possible.  We do know at this time that ALL associations using Public Facilities will be required to adhere to the applicable Provincial Sport Organizations “Return to Play” protocols.

From this Protocol Guidance, below are a few steps Red Circle is implementing for the upcoming season.

  • Flexible Registration – Red Circle is committed to ensuring a fair refund policy is in place in the event of a shut down, modification, or interruption of the hockey season. Included in this is an extension to our early bird registration fee and a prorated scale for refunds due to early withdraw or cancellations.
  • Players will be assigned teams based on previous years evaluations/level played in the appropriate age group.  We will not be implementing our typical evaluation process this season.
  • Team and Division sizes will be smaller as required by the Protocol.
  • Enhanced Personal Protective Equipment use and safety protocols for Players, Coaches, and Officials on and off the ice.

Although we are unable to offer specific dates when the season can begin, our intention is to begin as soon as it is safe to do so with the proper procedures in place.  We encourage those thinking of registering, to please do so as soon as practical.  This will ensure we can use relevant participant numbers to develop our Return to Play strategy.

We will continue to update our website and social media as more information becomes available.

Thank you,

Red Circle Executive Committee
